Personally I used to do pushups or read Warhammer Chronicles omnibuses in between my turns, but that's quite impossible since the Potion of Speed named patch, that brought us an amazing optimization and reduced AI turn waiting time drastically. Everyone, including CA was unhappy with the map cuts and the official reasoning was that the game's loading times for AI turn was so long already that it would've really hurt the gameplay experience if they wouldn't have cut down the map's 'less important' parts. Start positions would remain the same as in current Mortal Empires though (so Khalida doesn't move to Lustria for example).

Hard to recommend WH2 enough, as it's excellent representations of the various clans does them each justice.Įdit It seems like there is a lot of DLC, and there is, but remember each DLC that hits also comes with a free character, so even if you arn't planning on buying the DLC, when it hits, you do get free stuff and it can be substantial.And by change I mean Warhammer 3 Mortal Empires should use the complete and preserved as is map of Warhammer 2 and 3, just like Mortal Empires 1 uses the complete and preserved unchanged map of Warhammer 1. Only get Wood Elves, Chaos, or Beastmen (WH1 DLC) if you really research what their gameplay is like in 2 and you want to do it anyway. Tomb Kings, then Vampire Coast, the Queen and the Crone, and lastly Hunter and Beast, placed last as the two factions in that are advanced and boring respectively. Norsca (WH1 DLC which will work in 2) next, Wulfrik is a blast to play as both he and his faction are quite strong, and his monster-hunting unique missions are a fun distraction. Clan Eshin is a force to be reckoned with. While Malus Darkblade's campaign has some issues with edginess and trying too hard, the Deathmaster just spams assassins and removes lords, heroes, and eventually, entire factions with the click of a button from his safe-space near a soon to be dead Dark Elf. Shadow and Blade, made the ME map larger when it came out which everyone gets for free, and introduces two fun characters. Ikit also starts in the center of the Mortal Empires map in glorious Skavenblight so expand in any direction you please, as Clan Skyre is mighty indeed. Prophet and Warlock, Teenie-Weenie is a hard campaign and he isn't fond of rats (which is why it's so hard, Skaven often destroy him), but Ikit Claw is a blast and has literal nukes you can use from turn 1. Warhammer 1, as it opens more races and Mortal Empires If you do want to play, and want to know what DLC to get, I'd recommend it in this order I don't know if there are any other games with those kinds of stats this long out, but it speaks to the quality of the game. The game is years old and still has almost half of it's peak playerbase playing on a given day.

The retention is also something to really take note of. I'm only 85 hours in at this point, far less then most, but I've beaten a legendary campaign and have all the DLC. Mortal Empires is so good at this point I find it hard to play the 'Vortex' campaign.
